TIPS FOR GREAT PHOTOS
Taking photographs of your pet can be lots of fun and can be very challenging. Take your time, have fun and enjoy spending time with your pet! Please remember that the detail in your portrait is directly related to the quality and clarity of the photographs you provide. You may also opt to have photoshoot for your pet by a professional photographer or, if you are local, set up an appointment for me to come and we can take photographs together.

TIPS ON LIGHTING
The best lighting is the natural light that comes from being outdoors. A bright overcast day is perfect because the light is not too harsh and does not blow out the colors and details. If going outside is not possible then by a window is the next best thing. Always have your pet facing in the direction the light is coming from.

Direct mid-day sunlight as well as using your flash will distort the colors, shadows and details and will cause red-eye.

POSITION
Get down on your pets level. If you are taking a photo of the whole body it is sometimes better to take it from an angle.

SHY PETS
I myself have a shy dog. He was not at all okay with all the attention and pointing of the strange black thing in his direction. BUT, as my husband held the leash, I held the camera and another family member drove up the driveway, he perked up and gave me the perfect shot. Sometimes you just have to be creative.
PLEASE REMEMBER - The better the detail and clarity of your photograph, the better I am able to capture your pets true personality.
